IIT is currently seeking brilliant and highly motivated applicants for 1 technologist position available at the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies in Lecce.

The selected candidate will be hired in the framework of activities of the Asse II - PON R&I 2014-2020 project: “Smart Energy Efficiency & Environment for Industry (SE4I)” (Area: “Smart Factory” - Code: ARS01_01137) –cup B76G18000400005

The activity aims at the implementation of advanced smart materials and technologies for energy efficient buildings façades. The successful candidate will plan and carry out her/his experimental activities in the framework of a technological platform aimed at developing innovative Nearly-Zero-Energy glazing technologies.

This research activity has been conceived to address the most crucial issues associated with:

  • sol-gel synthesis of colloidal nanomaterials
  • fabrication of engineered nanostructured electrodes by screen-printing and/or ink-jet printing
  • design/realization of innovative smart electrochromic windows
  • analysis of their fundamental operation mechanisms

She/he will operate in a world-class laboratory equipped with a wide range of fabrication and characterization facilities.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • master degree in a scientific discipline, preferentially Material Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
  • PhD or an equivalent post-graduation research experience (at least three years) in material science, materials engineering or Nanotechnologies
  • excellent knowledge of the basic concepts of thermodynamics and electrochemistry
  • experience in the use of at least one 3D modeling software

Good team-working skills in an international environment as well as excellent capability to discuss and communicate in English are essential prerequisites. Candidate should be highly motivated, strive to achieve best results, and contribute to the advancement of her/his research team program.             

Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience and in line with international standards.
