The Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia is seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic fellow in the field of Artificial Intelligence within the Advanced Materials for Sustainable Future Technologies Research Line. The selected candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team developing medical sensors in the area of physiological monitoring, human-machine interface and rehabilitation engineering.

The research activities will be carried out within the Artificial Physiology Lab: our laboratory deals with human-machine interfaces, developing sensors and advanced algorithms in the context of prosthetics, neuro-muscular rehabilitation, industry 4.0, wellness and sport. The Lab is involved in projects with clinical partners sharing resources, competencies and motivation to achieve excellent results transferable to the medical field.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. working on the back-end and integrating it with a front end for collecting sensor data
  2. Studying and implementing a system to process, elaborate and analyze biomechanical and electrophysiological data using machine learning.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate interested in Biomedical/Computer/Electrical Engineering or related disciplines. The ideal candidate should have:

  • experience in Python, C#, Java, PostgreSQL, Git and GUI development
  • knowledge of Machine learning
  • pro-active mindset and result oriented attitude
  • proficiency in English

The selected candidate will be part of a project in the industry 4.0 field (HOME - Hierarchical Open Manufacturing Europe – funded by the Regione Piemonte with Grant POR-FESR Piemonte 2014/2020 “Fabbrica Intelligente” - project code 319-50 EPNZ006801 and REHOME – “Soluzioni ICT per la tele-riabilitazione di disabilità cognitive e motorie originate da patologie neurologiche” funded by the Regione Piemonte with Grant POR-FESR Piemonte 2014/2020 “Salute e benessere”  project code 320-37 EPNZ008901), dealing with movement detection and reconstruction to improve the physical health and wellness of workers.

Workplace: Torino

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
