Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is opening two Post-doctoral positions, in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship, funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 881603 for the 2020-2023 period (http://graphene-flagship.eu/).
The successful candidate will join the “2D Materials Engineering” Research Line, led by the Principal Investigator Dr. Camilla Coletti, in Pisa at the “Center for Nanotechnology Innovation” and will work under the direct supervision of Prof. Marco Polini and in tight collaboration with partners of the EU Graphene Flagship project and the IIT Graphene Labs.
Two Post-doctoral positions are currently available to work in the context of the WP8-Optoelectronics and Photonics.
One theoretical Post-doctoral position is available to work on theoretical formulation of i) THz detection schemes based on the Dyakonov-Shur effect and related cavity effects in van der Waals heterostructures comprising graphene and related materials and ii) novel sensing schemes based on twisted bilayer graphene. Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in the theory of open quantum systems, quantum metrology and many-body effects.
Candidates are required to have a PhD in Theoretical Physics.
Ideal candidates should have a strong background in analytical methods for quantum mechanical problems and quantum optics.
One theoretical Post-doctoral position is available to work on nonlinear optical and plasmonic effects in van der Waals heterostructures comprising graphene and related materials, with particular attention to twisted bilayer graphene.
Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in the theory of optical effects in condensed matter systems and many-body effects.
Candidates are required to have a PhD in Theoretical/Condensed Matter Physics.
