The Nanochemistry Research Line at IIT in Genoa is seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate in the field of electrocatalysis, in particular in the electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction.
The research topic targets the development, scale-up, and testing of new catalysts, in the framework of the Horizon 2020 ERC Proof of Concept Project HyCat (Grant Agreement n. 899412), coordinated by Prof. Liberato Manna.
Towards this aim, the hired postdoc is expected to carry out electrode fabrication by chemical/electrochemical deposition, extensive structural and compositional characterization, and electrochemical analysis, including testing in industrially relevant conditions. Therefore, a candidate with a strong background in materials synthesis, characterization and electrocatalysis is required. The postdoc position is limited to 1.5 years (corresponding to the whole duration of the project). The highly interdisciplinary research environment at IIT provides access to state-of-the-art wet labs, setups for electrocatalysis, electron microscopy facilities, materials characterization facilities and others. https://www.iit.it/research/lines/nanochemistry
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or related subject with hands-on experience in electrocatalysis. Fluency in English is essential. The successful candidate should have good practice with teamwork, group learning processes and a problem-solving attitude.
To apply please send electronically your detailed CV outlining experience and qualifications, a motivation letter and the name and contact informations of at least two professional references to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting “in the preparation, testing and scale-up of new catalysts for the electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction CB 78137” in the subject of the e-mail. Please apply before 02.29.2020.
