Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT ( is opening a Researcher position within the “Advanced Materials for Optoelectronics” (AMO, Research Line for the investigation of physical properties of functional materials thorough optical and electronic spectroscopies.   

The successful candidate will conduct fundamental studies aimed at understanding photophysical processes in hybrid semiconductors by developing cutting-edge optical and electronic spectroscopic set ups. He/she will have laboratory managing duties and will coordinate scientific projects and interdisciplinary collaborations. He/she will also coordinate a small team of students and/or post-docs, within the AMO group, active on different aspects of the related activity. The candidate is expected to contribute to expand the already established research activities and network, also through fundraising activities.

The research activity will be carried out at the “Center for Nano Science and Technology” of the Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Milan (Italy), within the AMO group in collaboration with the Principal Investigator Dr. Annamaria Petrozza.

Eligible applicants must have an early stage (between 3 and 10 years from the PhD) track record of high level publications in international journals in topics closely related to the study of photophysical processes in semiconductors. The applicants are also required to have a PhD in either Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering (Energy, Physics, Chemistry, Materials, and Electronics).

Strong experimental expertise in time resolved optical (absorption and photoluminescence) spectroscopy and in managing complex fs/ps-laser systems is compulsory. Proven experience in electronic spectroscopy will also be a strong asset. The successful candidate will have very good team-working capability and experience in the supervision of students/young researchers. He/she must be fluent in English.
