1 Post-Doc Position – Investigation of nanomaterials/cell interaction (Smart Bio-Interfaces) - [ Postdoc ]

Workplace: Pontedera, IIT@SSSA
Added on: 28/11/2019 - Expires on: 07/01/2020

The Smart Bio-Interfaces Research Line (https://www.iit.it/research/lines/smart-bio-interfaces) is opening one Post-Doc position on investigation of nanomaterials/cell interaction.

The Smart Bio-Interfaces research line, led by Prof. Gianni Ciofani, is active in the field of smart nanomaterials for nanomedicine, bio/non-bio interactions, and biology in altered gravity conditions, and it is located at the Center for Micro-BioRobotics (CMBR, Pontedera, Pisa). CMBR has fully equipped chemical, biological and microfabrication facilities, including clean rooms (class 1000 and class 10000), chemical laboratories, BSL2 biological laboratories, and equipment for molecular biology.

The candidate needs a strong multi-disciplinary profile, with expertise in smart approaches for drug delivery, bio/non-bio interfaces, micro- and nano-fabrication. Experiences in smart material/cell biology testing will be favorably considered.

The selected candidate will be expected to support ongoing projects developed by the Smart Bio-Interfaces research line (https://www.iit.it/research/lines/smart-bio-interfaces).

Applicants must have at least 2 years of post-doctoral experience, with a Ph.D. in one of the following areas: bioengineering, biotechnology, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, or related fields.

Experiences with nanofabrication, nanomaterials characterization, nanoparticles functionalization are mandatory. Experience in nanomaterials biological testing will be favourably evaluated. High level of English, both spoken and written, is an essential requirement.

Interested candidates should send their application (CV, list of publications, name and contacts of 2 referees) to applications@iit.it and to gianni.ciofani@iit.it by January 7, 2020 quoting “1 Post-Doc Position Smart Bio-Interfaces - CB 77088”in the subject line.
