Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is looking for a post-doctoral scientist to carry out bioinformatics studies to elucidate the genetic causes of a selected pool of rare diseases. The successful candidate will work in the Computational and Chemical Biology Research Line of IIT, located in Genova.
He/She will be in charge of the bioinformatics activities necessary for analysis and interpretation of WES and WGS trios data, enabling the identification of mutations causative of rare pathologies.
Eligible applicants must have a master degree in Biology, Biotechnology or related fields, and a Ph.D. in Genetics or related fields. Previous and proved experience of at least 5 years in bioinformatics applied to genetic diagnostics is crucial. Experience in WES and WGS data analysis will be considered a plus. Excellent English communication skills, creativity and marked enthusiasm for research are mandatory.
