Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is looking for one post-doctoral scientist to carry out omics discovery studies to elucidate the changes occurring to neuronal tissues exposed to graphene-related materials (GRM). The successful candidate will work in the Analytical Chemistry Lab of IIT, in the framework of the Future & Emerging Technologies flagship project on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship (http://graphene-flagship.eu/) funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 785219.
He/She will be in charge of all the bioanalytical activities required by the Project, carried out using top end mass spec instruments. The scientific challenge of this project includes the setup and development of the new IIT MALDI imaging platform, based on the newly purchased dedicated instrument.
Eligible applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related fields and a strong background in MS-based bioanalytical chemistry. Previous experience in MALDI imaging will be considered a plus. Excellent English communication skills, creativity and marked enthusiasm for research are mandatory. Selected candidate will join the Analytical Chemistry Lab Team of IIT located in Genova. Salary and benefits are in line with international standards.
