The Rehab Technologies - INAIL-IIT lab ( http://rehab.iit.it/ ) is seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic junior Electronic Engineer with excellent skills in the design and development of electronic boards for complex mechatronic systems with highly customised sensing and actuation units. Experience in the design of electronic boards for advanced robots will be an asset.

The ideal candidates should possess an Electronic Engineering degree and be able to demonstrate proficiency in hardware design and testing as well as in practical designs. Excellent hands-on practical skills are required.

The successful candidates should have:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or closely related area.
  • Excellent skills in electronic design, testing and debugging.
  • A good working knowledge of PCB development tools such as Altium Designer, Orcad etc.
  • Good knowledge of power electronics, motor control and embedded firmware.
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic hardware.
  • Proactive attitude and results-oriented mindset.
  • A good knowledge of English or ability to attain this is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate in an international research team.

Position overview

Specific responsibilities of the job would include the following:

  • Design, optimization and testing of electronic boards for actuation control, signal conditioning, communication and power management.
  • Interact with and evaluate suppliers of custom electronic boards.
  • Generate detailed technical documentation for board production and testing.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanics, software and control) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system
