Bio
Mandana Hamidi is a PhD student in Tele Robotics and Applications (TERA) at Italian Institute of Technology (IIT). She joined IIT in February 2009. She is currently working on Developing Advanced Algorithms and Architectures for Reasoning Systems. Before joining IIT she was the faculty member of Azad University Branch of Zarghan in 2005-2009. She received her B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Azad University Branch of Shiraz, Iran, in 2001. She got her M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from School of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Azad University Branch of Qazvin, Iran, in 2008. During her B.S. and M.S. study, she had worked as developer, program designer, and also manager of the programming team in several companies in Shiraz and Tehran, Iran. Her research activities are in the areas of machine learning, machine vision, image processing, neural network, evolutionary computing, cellular learning automata, swarm intelligence, pattern recognition, and reasoning systems. She is the author/co-author of over 20 articles in archival journals and conferences, on optical character recognition, image segmentation, hybrid models of particle swarm optimization, and cellular learning automata. She is the recipient of Azad University branch of Zarghan award for the best researcher in 2008 and also was ranked the top student during all MSc. semesters among Artificial Intelligence students in Azad University Branch of Qazvin in 2005-2008.
