Bio

Alessandra Sciutti was born in Genoa (Italy) in 1982. She received her master’s degree in Bioengineering (highest honors) from the University of Genoa in 2006. In 2007, she joined the Department of Computer, Communication and System Sciences (DIST) of the University of Genoa as PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Francesco Nori and Prof. Giulio Sandini. Her research activity was carried out at the Robotics, Brain and Cognitive Sciences (RBCS) Department of the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa and mainly concerned the study of the action-perception link in predictive tasks. Alessandra received her Ph.D. in Humanoid Technologies from the University of Genoa (Italy) in 2010.

Since then she has been working as a PostDoc at the RBCS Department of the Italian Institute of Technology. Currently she is spending a year at the Robotics Lab of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago as a visiting researcher.

Alessandra Sciutti has a bioengineering background, based on engineering topics (computer programming, control theory, (bio) material science, robotics) and on neuroscience subjects (Physiology, Neurophysiology , Biochemistry).
