Andrea Nuzzi was awarded with M.Sc. in Chemistry in July 2003 at the University of Calabria. His research activity dealt with cerium(III) triflate as catalyst for the Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction on aromatic substrates.
In September 2004, he moved to the University of Ferrara where he got admitted to the Graduate School of Synthetic Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. A. Dondoni and Dr. A. Massi. His research mainly focussed on C-glycosides, in particular the synthesis of imino-C-glycosides, C-glycosyl amino acids and modification of small DNA codons experiencing organometallic, “click” and organocatalyzed chemistry. He was awarded with his Ph.D. in March 2008.
In April 2008, he moved to Siena working as Junior Scientist in the Medicinal Chemistry Department, SienaBiotech, where he was introduced to the drug discovery process (CNS and oncology theraupeutic areas).
Since February 2010, he has been joining the D3 Department at IIT as PostDoc Junior.
