On 8th February the morning RAI 1 TV program Uno Mattina, anchored by Franco Di Mare and Elisa Isoardi, broadcast a special feature about the IIT robotics, with a focus on iCub - developed in the Robotics, Brain and Cognitive Sciences (RBCS) department – and on HyQ and CoMan - developed in the Advanced Robotics (ADVR) department. In the TV studios the presenters interviewed Giulio Sandini, Director, and Giorgio Metta, Senior Researcher, from RBCS Department, speaking about iCub and its future progress.
iCub is a humanoid robot that imitates the cognitive skills of children, CoMan has two legs that move and walk softly like those of humans, HyQ is a hydraulic quadruped robot able to walk on rough terrain and thought to help people in emergency. The journalist Massimo Tosi filmed them in IIT laboratories together with some young researchers: Vadim Tikhanoff and Carlo Ciliberto from RBCS, Luca Colasanto and Claudio Semini from ADVR.
