Neuro-photonics encompass all kinds of interactions between light and neural tissue.

Application specific optical methods are developed and optimized for selectively imaging and manipulating neuronal tissue, for characterizing neuronal activity and morphology, and also for quantifying biophysical parameters such as forces involved in cell adhesion and neuronal processes growth.
