| Post-synaptic determinants of plasticity at GABAergic synapses |

The research aims to understand the post-synaptic determinants shaping the GABAergic synaptic currents in development and during synaptic plasticity. We study the functional properties of GABAA post-synaptic receptors using high temporal resolution techniques as ultra-fast perfusion system and UV laser photolysis of caged neurotransmitters. In addition we study the diffusion of individual GABAA receptors in the neuronal membrane by coupling the receptors to fluorescent nanocrystals.
