Computational Facility

The computational facility develops simulation models for the various research themes in the Nanostructure group and uses four numerical and one analytical software. Each package focuses on specific aspects, for example CST numerical tool is used for 3D vectorial calculation of electromagnetic fields, whereas Comsol helps when multi physics aspects are involved.

The AFM and Raman Lab

AFM system is coupled to Raman microscope to perform the AFM morphology and chemical mapping altogether at any position (nanoscopy) in both configurations, reflection and transmission mode. We use nosal tip as well as the nanocone tip fabricated in our nanofabrication lab.

Three laser lines: second harmonic of solid state laser (532 nm), He-Ne laser (633 nm) and diode laser (830 nm).

AFM (alone and together with Raman) can perform measurements in contact, semicontact and jumping mode.

Clean Room

A 500 m2 clean room includes ISO6 (yellow room), ISO7 and ISO8 (dressing room). The clean room is equipped with all the main systems for micro and nanofabrication, from lithography and nanopatterning tools to deposition and etching equipment, back-end machines and metrology tools. Chemical benches are available for wet processes.
Users of the clean room are researchers and students of the Nanostructures Department, as well as from other departments.
