Bio

Andrea Falqui got his degree in Physics with the highest marks and honours in July 1993 at the University of Cagliari with a dissertation on: ”Quantitative Analysis. Preparation and characterisation of the semi magnetic compound MnGa2Se4”; supervisor: Prof. Francesco Ledda.
He earned the PhD degree in Physics with the highest marks at the University of Cagliari in February 2001, with a dissertation on “Magnetic Properties of Nanocomposite Materials” .
Has been a Marie Curie Post-doctoral research Fellow at CEMES/CNRS, Toulouse (France), carrying out the research project “Investigations of magnetic nanocomposites by convenventional and High Resolution Transmission Microscopy and EELS Spectroscopy” (2001-2002). He is Senior Researcher in the Scientific Area of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Cagliari from July 2002 to present. In this capacity has taught Physical Chemistry, Informatics and Physics of Materials.
Andrea Falqui was Visiting Researcher and Professor at INSA (Institut National de Sciences Appliqué) of Toulouse, France, (2006-2007 and 2009), where taught General Physics and carried out research on nanomaterials by Conventional and High Resolution Transmission and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy and connected spectroscopic techniques (EELS and EDX).
Andrea Falqui is Coordinator of the Electron Microscopy Laboratory of the Italian Institute of Technology of Genoa (Italy), from April 2008 to present.
He is also expert in the study of magnetic behaviour of materials by Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID)
Andrea Falqui is co-author of a book chapter more than 90 papers published in international scientific journals.
