Dr. Reggiani is a Neuropharmacologist with more than 25 years experience of drug discovery in leading pharmaceutical companies such as GSK and Schering Plough. His last position was Director and Site Head of Schering Plough Research Institute, San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park, Milan, Italy.
Dr. Reggiani main research interests are stroke, neurodegeneration, cognition, and pain. In his professional activity Dr Reggiani has brought to exploratory development 7 new compounds, he holds 6 issued patents and he has published almost 100 original papers in leading peer reviewed journals.
Since 2003, Dr Reggiani is adjunct Professor and Head of the Chair of Pharmacological Biotechnology at the University Vita e Salute, San Raffaele Biomedical Science Park, Milan, Italy and since 2004 acts as an independent expert to assist the European Commission in the evaluation of research proposals related to calls within European framework programs (6th and 7th) in the Bioscience and Biomedical Area (theme Health).
Dr Reggiani holds a doctoral degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology and a postgraduate degree in Experimental Pharmacology from the University of Milan. He did his postdoctoral training in Neuropharmacology at the Dept of Pharmacological Sciences, Univ of Milan and at the Dept. of Pharmacology, Univ. of Texas, Medical School at Houston.
