Bio

Stefano Ponzano graduated in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2002. In 2003 he joined the European Commission at the DG Research and Technology Development dealing in the evaluation procedure for scientific projects within the 6FP.
He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona in 2008 working on the thesis entitled "Design and Synthesis of New Nine- and Ten-membered Oxabicycles with Antitumor Activity. Docking and Biological Studies”.

After his PhD he joined the Eli Lilly unit at the scientific park of Barcelona working on the development of new drug candidates belonging to different therapeutic areas. 

Dr. Ponzano joined the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in July 2010 as post-doctoral Fellow in the Drug Discovery and Development department.
